"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15
Tyson has had the itch for quite some time to find a neighborhood where we could have a little bit more land around us, while still having neighbors that weren't right on top of us. After months of looking and praying and driving and praying some more...we finally found it! About 15 minutes west of Katy, there is the cutest little country town called Fulshear and we just fell in love with it. The neighborhood we found is precious and almost reminds me of Pleasantville. It's quaint. It's country. And it's quiet. Full of kind people and lots of trees! We found a lot that is about a 1/2 acre with several trees in the back, but the best part is, it backs up to a beautiful creek and we will never have any rear neighbors. It's probably not quite as much land to fulfill all of Tyson's country desires, but for now, it's absolutely perfect for us. We weren't planning to build a house at all, but we just couldn't pass up this lot...it's truly an answer to our prayers! Of course, this new adventure meant that we had to sell our house as well...and another answered prayer came when it sold after being on the market for not even two full weeks. After packing up everything and putting it into storage, Tyson and I went through our sadly empty home and said a prayer in each room--thanking God for what that room had brought to our lives and asking that He bless the new family moving-in in the same way. We loved that house of ours and we know that we were beyond blessed to have such a pretty home for our very first one. We started our family there and in just five short years had made SO many memories. I was surprised at what an emotional goodbye it was for me. BUT, God has provided for us again and although it's a little bittersweet, we are so excited about the new memories we will make in our home by the creek. We are so lucky that my mom and dad have a town home close to Katy and they have agreed to let us stay with them for a few months until our new house is ready. The best part about our temporary home is that they're only here about 4 nights a week since they go back to the lake every weekend and they're not here at all when my dad travels...which means we all get a bit of a break from one another! They are breaking ground on our new house TODAY so I'll keep updating with pictures as we go out to see the progress!
The saddest part for Tyson was leaving his beloved patio...his brother, Colby and him worked so hard to build it for us and we definitely loved spending time out here!
The saddest part for me? Definitely saying goodbye to Parker's bedroom. Oh, how we prayed and prayed for this sweet room to be created...
This is where our new HOME will be!
We are so excited for our new country livin' adventure!
Parker wanted to help with the move...we decided he was fragile so we should wrap him up too!
The BEST way to preoccupy this baby boy while trying to pack!
I'm not quite sure how we acquired so much STUFF...but I was shocked that it all fit in this storage unit!
I think his love of climbing is getting stronger the bigger he gets!
His play date with Asher while we went to close on our house. Thanks so much, Ashleigh for watching him!
Our old couch had a stain on it, so the sweet people at Gallery Furniture let us come and pick out a new one! Yes, they have monkeys at this furniture store and our son LOVED them.
Our new temporary home even has a pool!
As you can see...there's not a lot of kiddos that live around here!
A special smile just for his precious Gigi on her birthday!! So sorry we couldn't be there to celebrate but we sure sent a lot of LOVE all the way to Aledo for you!
We drove out the other day to take a look at our lot before they "broke ground" this week and they'd already started by leveling it out.
His first plum...he LOVED it!
Poor P has a case of the "hand/foot/mouth" virus and is not feeling well. :(
Bedtime snuggles with daddy. Both of their favorite time of day.
