Baby T's Room

Just as I have been doing throughout my entire pregnancy...thank the Lord for my sister! She came down and helped me get Baby T's room completely organized after our showers. I literally wouldn't have known where to start, but after two kids of her own, she's a pro and I couldn't have done it without her! And also after two kids of her own, she has lots of GREAT hand-me-downs for us too! We're still waiting on her crib mattress and glider, but other than that, it's pretty close to being finished. We have a bible verse to put on the wall above the crib too, and we'll order the bedding once he/she is born! Here are some updated pics of the nursery:

A super organized closet...let's hope I can keep it this way!

Notice the pink and blue outfits? Nona just couldn't help herself and had to buy one of each.

I prayed this verse throughout our entire journey to get pregnant...I can't think of anything more perfect to go above the crib. We'll put it on the wall soon!

36 Weeks!

I still can hardly believe that we have just FOUR more weeks to go! Tyson and I are getting SO excited...we just can't wait to meet this precious little baby. I had my 36 week appointment on Tuesday and Dr. Peterson did one final ultrasound to make sure everything looked okay. God is so good and Baby T looked perfect once again! It is head down, has a little bit of hair, and she said that it doesn't look like it's going to be a huge baby after all. :) Tyson and I watched in amazement as it took practice breaths and open and closed it's mouth, sticking out it's tongue over and over again. Dr. Peterson confirmed what Tyson has been saying all along - they both think without a doubt that the baby has my nose. :) I guess we'll see once we finally meet! Dr. P did an exam to check and see if I'm dilated, but nothing yet. I'll keep going back every week for exams until April 27 - unless Baby T decides to come early! :) Perhaps we could have an Easter Bunny Baby! She said she'll only let me go over by one week before inducing for the safety of the baby, so either way, it looks like the newest, most beautiful member of the Thomas Family will be here by May 4th! Minus still feeling tired in the afternoons, I'm feeling great! I think Baby T is feeling quite squished and at times it feels like he/she is ready to bust out of my tummy. I'm trying to soak up every little (or big) movement and each tiny hiccup because I know I'll miss feeling them once it's born...but then again, how amazing will it be to look at the face of our baby and finally get to kiss and hug it?!

Baby T's final picture in utero! It's mouth is open wide and I think it looks like it definitely has some nice lips! :)

34.5 weeks!

Once again, we were a little bit late on taking this picture, but here it is...my baby bump at 34.5 weeks! Still feeling GREAT and loving every minute of this pregnancy. The baby's movements are getting much more pronounced and it seems to have the hiccups quite a bit! I think it moves up into my ribs sometimes because lately I've been feeling a little short of breath. I couldn't even sing in church because I felt so winded the other day! I've been organizing like crazy and I'm finally starting to feel like our home is actually ready for Baby T! We still have a few more things to do in the baby room, but thanks to my sister and ALL of her help with putting things away after my shower, it's pretty much done. I'm posting this a bit late because I'll technically be 36 weeks this week and we have our final ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow! From here on out, I'll be going to the doctor every week so she can keep checking on the status of Baby T's arrival....it's literally only ONE month away! (unless it decides to come sooner!)

Baby Shower at Lake Conroe

I really find myself sitting here in awe when I think about how blessed we are. 6 wonderful and gracious women threw a baby shower for me at my parent's neighbor's house on Lake Conroe last weekend and it was simply perfect. They put so much thought and detail into every aspect of it, which made for a beautiful, incredibly memorable day. Several of my high school & college friends came, as well as some of my girlfriends from Katy, and other great family friends. My sweet grandma even came all the way from Arizona! It was a gift in and of itself just to be able to visit with so many of them that I hadn't seen in a while. They spoiled us rotten though, and I drove home with a car packed full of incredible baby goodies. I can't say thank you enough to ALL of you who came and helped to make it such a special day for me and Baby T!

It all started out the night before the shower with everyone at my parent's house cooking/chopping/baking their yummy goodies. Tess really wanted to help!

So Nona put her to work squeezing garlic!

My sweet friend Jenn drove all the way from Austin with her son Brody and spent the night at my parent's on Friday....here's Kelly and her being such good mommies and getting dinner for their boys.

Trent & Brody ready for some hot dogs!

At the shower with Brittany and Kendra - two wonderful friends that I met while teaching at OKE!

Oh, how I love this girl. Me and Emily - she is one of my very best friends that I met in Katy.

And here's a picture of Jenn where you can actually see her beautiful face! She was my very first friend that I made when we moved to the states from overseas. We were only 15 then - and she's still one of my besties!

Jenn, me and Amy - who has probably been my LONGEST friend - we became best friends when we lived in Oman in 8th grade, moved to The Woodlands for 10th, went to A&M together in 2000, got married a month apart in 2006 and now we're both having babies the same year!! But she is hiding twins in that tiny belly of hers!!! :)

Heather (August), me (April), Amy (September), Brittany (May), Jennifer (July) and Marcy (April) - all with bundles of joy coming soon!!

An adorable and equally delicious cake for Baby T!

Our first baby shower...

Tyson's mom, Nanette (a family friend), Becky (his aunt) and Erin (his cousin) threw an absolutely amazing couples shower for us in Fort Worth last weekend, and we haven't been able to stop talking about it! Tyson's mom and dad have a beautiful new home that they opened up to about 45 family members and friends for an afternoon to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby T. It couldn't have been MORE special for us to be surrounded by so many people we love so much as we prepare for our new adventure into parenthood. It really meant the world to us just to have everyone there, but we were blown away and truly touched by how generous our friends and family are. We received so many wonderful gifts and to say Baby T was spoiled rotten is a severe understatement. We were truly blessed and showered with an overwhelming amount of love and support. Saying thank you could never seem like enough, but from the bottom of our hearts, we are so completely thankful for a shower that provided us with special memories and a room full of baby goodies!

Erin, Me, Gigi (Tyson's mom), Becky and Nanette. They put on an amazing shower for us!

The decorations were precious...Nanette's daughter made us this super cute diaper cake!

The adorable cupcakes they had made for us! Not only were they pretty to look at, they were delicious!

One of my best friends from college who I haven't seen in FOREVER, Jackie. We were so excited when we found out that we are due only ONE day apart!!

It was a display shower, so everyone brought an unwrapped gift that we could all see and touch!

We played a game to see if we'd get the same answers on our ideas about becoming parents...he wasn't too excited about it.

Have you gathered by now that he's never serious? Of course he was excited about it!

And guess what?! Most of our answers were the same! Looks like we're cut out for this parenting stuff after all...

Me with Aunt Kelly and her best friend Carrie. They gave me a bracelet with the verse "Her children rise up and call her blessed..." on it. I will cherish it forever!

Me, Aunt Kelly (my sister) and Nona (my mom)

She has been such a blessing to me during this entire pregnancy. I really don't know what I would do without my sister and best friend! Baby T doesn't know it yet, but it has the best aunt ever!

Mommy & Daddy To Be!

We love the bump!

Our friends from college, Lauren and Robert that we haven't seen since we ran into them on their honeymoon 3 years ago in Paris! Yes, it's the truth...even though we don't have a picture to prove it, it really happened.

How could we not be SO grateful to come home, unload our car, and have it look like this?? We are so blessed.

Sporting my new diaper bag!!

...and stylishly sporting his!!

His Rite of Passage

Our nursery furniture finally came in, and Tyson, as daddy-to-be, has successfully completed his Rite of Passage into fatherhood...the putting together of the crib! He wanted to do this for his baby, and believe it or not, it was actually quite simple. Nothing at all like how they make it look in the movies! I think Baby T will absolutely love this crib and be so thankful for the daddy who put it together!

It started out easy...

...and then the anger set in. Just kidding!

Halfway through he decided he needed to play with some of the baby gifts we got at our shower...

Oh, if only Baby T would be this happy after a bath! How lucky we will be!

I must say, Journey seemed quite jealous throughout the entire ordeal. She knows something is coming, and I'm not so sure she's excited about it.

The finished product! Isn't it beautiful?!

We are so happy with how the room is coming together! I'll keep posting more pics as we do more...

A very proud daddy-to-be!!
